As the war in Gaza rages on and the harsh winter sets in, babies have started to die due to hypothermia as Israel continues its blockade on humanitarian aid.

Furthermore, fresh Israeli strikes on the Nuseirat refugee camp have killed at least five journalists.

Much like the men, the women did so surrounded by a sea of orange, with Dutch fans filling Yves-du-Manoir Stadium and making for a festive atmosphere. Also like the men, it did not happen easily.

Meanwhile, Israel has summoned the Vatican envoy after Pope Francis' Christmas remarks on the ongoing war in Gaza, causing upset in Tel Aviv.

War On Gaza

As per reports, doctors have said three Palestinian babies have died of hypothermia in a displacement camp in southern Gaza. These deaths come as temperatures continue to drop in Gaza and Israel continues to block aid into the war-torn strip.

Meanwhile, fresh air strikes at the Nuseirat refugee camp have killed five journalists. With this killing, as per Gaza's Government Media Office, the number of journalists killed in the Gaza war has increased to 201.

"We hold the ‘Israeli’ occupation, the American administration, and the countries participating in the crime of genocide, such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and France fully responsible for committing this heinous and brutal crime,” it said in an official statement.

As per reports, the vehicle of the five journalists were targeted in the strikes. The vans, which was clearly marked with the words "press", would have kept the journalists safe from strikes.

Reports have further established that the van which was targeted belonged to a Palestinian satellite TV channel called al-Quds Today.

Israel Summons Vatican Envoy After Pope's Christmas Remarks

Israel has summoned the Vatican envoy to express its displeasure over Pope Francis' Christmas remarks.

As per Ynet News, Israel's foreign ministry director general Eyal Bar-Tal met with Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana on Tuesday and expressed “strong displeasure with the pope’s comments."

Ahead of Christmas Day, Pope Francis repeatedly criticised the war in Gaza and called on Israel to halt its bombardment of the Palestinian territory.

"And with pain, I think of Gaza, of so much cruelty, of the children being machine-gunned, of the bombings of schools and hospitals. What cruelty,” said the Pope.
